Our tracking classes offer an enriching and engaging experience for both dogs and their owners, harnessing the innate tracking abilities inherent in all dogs. These classes not only tap into the dogs' natural hunting instincts, a legacy from their wolf ancestors, but also foster a deeper connection between the dog and owner through skills like line handling and synchronized movement. As a result, owner and dog work together seamlessly towards a common goal.
Tracking is an exceptional mental and physical exercise for dogs, particularly beneficial for high-energy breeds, reactive dogs and their owners who are looking for more activities to do together. It's especially crucial for dogs with a strong work drive that might otherwise go unchallenged. For rescue dogs, tracking is an ideal way to build a trusting, strong bond with their new owners. It's also an effective confidence booster for shy dogs and a therapeutic activity for those that are fearful. The unique bond that develops through tracking is unparalleled, making these classes a pleasure for us to teach.
